Rupert Egerton-Smith is a UK based composer for film and visual media. He began improvising on the piano as a child before moving on to experiment with synthesizers and early studio technology. He worked with leading advertising agencies before focusing on documentaries and drama.

As a concert pianist and Steinway Artist, he is passionate about the power of music to convey emotion and tell stories. He brings this performance experience uniquely into his composing projects, as well as drawing on his deep understanding of the classical genre and modern music production. 

He prepares orchestral scores from his Devon studio blending organic instruments with electronics and sound design and collaborates with a network of musicians, orchestrators and producers around the world.

Clients have included the BBC, Channel 4, Disney and music agencies and labels Trailer Rebel, Syn World and Big Screen Music.
